What You'll Do
In this role, you'll be testing samples of asphalt, aggregate, and related materials to ensure that high-quality products meet specifications and standards. Your expertise in quality control will help ensure consistent, reliable results and contribute to building sustainable, safe communities.

We're seeking candidates with 3-7 years of experience in asphalt or aggregate quality control, with strong proficiency in field and lab testing methods. Location: Santa Rosa, CA. Must also be willing to travel to our various site locations in the North Bay Area as needed for testing our products.
Wage: $32 - 40/hr. DOE w/ potential for overtime.
Shift: Typically works M-F 8-10 hrs./day with occasional weekends, as needed.
What You Can Do (Minimum Qualifications)
3-7 years of experience in asphalt and aggregate testing
Strong math and analytical skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC programs
Demonstrated proficiency in field and lab testing procedures for asphalt and aggregates
Current Caltrans JTCP certifications (HMA I, HMA II, Soils & Agg), or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Strong communication skills with internal teams and external customers
Safety-oriented professional with reliable performance and attendance
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Must pass physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing
Current U.S. Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date
Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Collect samples from asphalt and aggregate plants or construction sites
Perform tests on construction materials including, but not limited to, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, soils, and water and calculate test data
Performs testing and laboratory analysis of gradation, sand equivalent, binder ignitions, specific gravity, density, and others as required
Operate materials testing equipment both in the field and in the lab
Accurately record, analyze, and enter test results into computer systems
Communicate test results promptly to supervisors, plant staff and customers when appropriate
Identify material inconsistencies and work collaboratively to implement solutions
Assist with plant quality control to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
Support production teams with material optimization and performance improvement efforts
Travel to and from various sites as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety protocols
Perform general maintenance duties as assigned
