Location: Farmington Hills, MI


Employment Type: Direct Hire/FTE


Interview Process: 2-step interview process


Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 annually


Ideal Candidate:

• HVAC experience as a Project Engineer


• Design release experience at the automotive supplier level


• Prior support to Honda, Ford, GM, or Nissan programs


• 5-10 years of experience preferred

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Project Engineer is responsible for planning, conducting, coordinating, and performing various engineering duties on multiple projects, both new and existing.


Responsibilities:

• Accept engineering responsibility for all assigned projects.


• Demonstrate strong communication skills to coordinate activities with other departments, locations, suppliers, and customers.


• Proficient in creating and understanding engineering drawings and CAD data.


• Conduct value analysis and FMEA studies.


• Submit timely schedules and technical reports in support of projects.


• Monitor project programs to achieve goals and meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.


• Examine designs for patentable features and prepare necessary disclosures.


• Collaborate with engineering staff at customer locations to develop designs, specifications, and requirements.


• Complete project activities within established budgets and deadlines.


• Assist manufacturing in achieving cost targets, process improvements, meeting production schedules, and solving production problems.


• Specify, procure, and/or develop test instrumentation, fixturing, and equipment for product evaluations as needed.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline with 1-4 years of experience in a related field, or a Master's Degree with 1-3 years of experience.


• Certification required in some areas.


• Experience with integrated computer programs and/or applications.


• Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.


• Ability to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
