Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient's vasculature. Our devices assist in the delivery of chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and nutrition.
Essential Job Functions:
The incumbent is responsible for the documentation, testing and inspection of product complaints
Completes root cause investigations
Triage and route investigation records and samples to appropriate location for further evaluation
Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes, equipment, tooling and fixtures
Participate in regular team meetings
Escalate complex customer concerns to management
Present findings, trends, and complaint information to product teams
Develops and maintains knowledge of products, components, manufacturing processes, and use conditions
Maintains accurate data and organizes and presents data in a reportable format
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of BD policies and procedures and ISO and FDA requirements
Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and procedures outlined by BD policies
Basic Qualifications:
Technical writing proficiency in the English language
Proficiency in personal computer software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work in a team
Good communication skills (written/verbal)
Ability to integrate written and verbal instructions; work under supervision
Basic organizational and math/statistics skills
Basic knowledge of standard laboratory practices
Ability to collect, record and report data accurately
General aptitude with testing and manufacturing equipment
Task and detail oriented
Must be perceptive in handling information/data
Education and/or Experience:
Preferred: Associates degree in a scientific discipline with 0-2 years professional experience.
A combination of education and experience in laboratory services, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a complaint handling and/or laboratory environment will be considered.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
