Job Description:

The Director of Post-Production will oversee and lead the department’s workflows, ensuring the seamless execution of all post-production activities while fostering a collaborative and creative environment. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, including producers, editors, sound designers, and the design team, to deliver compelling and visually stunning content to our audiences. A significant focus will also be placed on supporting and optimizing the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure that images, videos, audio files, and other assets are centrally located and easily accessible across teams. Additionally, the Director will collaborate closely with engineering and IT teams to ensure the department consistently meets technical requirements and adheres industry standards.
 

Scripps offers a hybrid work option for this position. The role requires working in the Atlanta office at least 2-3 days per week, so it is generally expected to be about 40% remote (may change based on business need).  
 

 WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Mentor and train a talented team of post-production professionals, including editors, colorists, and media managers, in Adobe Premiere basics, color correction, and asset management.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team efficiency, productivity, and project delivery.
    Provide input on hardware and software budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental needs.

  • Collaborate with Leads and Producers to oversee all media management for post-production projects, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Offer technical feedback to post-production teams to maintain alignment with industry standards and best practices.

  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to post-production.

  • Evaluate and implement new software, hardware, and workflows to enhance the efficiency and quality of post-production processes.

  • Ensure that the department is equipped with up to date, well-maintained post-production equipment and software. Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes to deliver the highest standards of post-production output. Foster a collaborative and creative work environment by building effective teams and encouraging open communication and teamwork.

  • Collaborate closely with project management, production, creative, and technical teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
     

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:


  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred

  • At least 10 years of experience in related field preferred

  • Prior managerial experience strongly preferred
     

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:


  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • In-depth knowledge of post-production workflows, software and hardware, and media management

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Highly functioned thinker around systems management workflow and process

  • Experience collaborating and implementing projects in partnership with engineering and IT
