Position Overview:

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a Wire Design and Installation Engineerto join the Precision Engagement Weaponsteam located in St. Charles, MO.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Supports analysis and design reviews.
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Supports the development of statements of work.
  • Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Analyzes functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
  • Works under general supervision.


This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Prior experience in wire design OR wire installation
  • 1+ years of engineering experience with aircraft, spacecraft weapons, or related systems


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
  • Contract requirements experience with DOORS preferred pertaining to wire design installation

    Understanding of specification AS50881 latest revision

    Comprehensive use of Boeing policies, procedures and process specifications

    Experience on military aircraft or weapons systems
  • Experience with NX modeling


Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level (level 2): $79,900- $108,100.

Summary pay range for experienced level (level 3): $96,050 - $129,950
