Job Details:

Mercer University is searching for an Assistant Coach for Football.


Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the head football coach, the assistant coach should have a working knowledge of Southern League and NCAA policies, rules and regulations and adhere to these policies as they pertain to the job. The assistant coach should represent Mercer in a first-class manner and is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and recruiting student-athletes.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and prior football coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level, are required. Candidates must annually complete the Recruiting Certification from NCAA/Southern Conference.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to teach football schemes to student-athletes.

  • Ability to work in extreme weather during practice and competition.

  • Ability to communicate and motivate student-athletes.

  • Ability to recruit student-athletes that fit our scheme.

  • Strong communication skills.
