Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and lead credit and risk management functions, including underwriting, loan servicing, and portfolio management.


• Develop and implement lending policies and procedures to align with CDFI standards and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


• Create and execute comprehensive credit risk management strategies, addressing operational, compliance, and portfolio risks.


• Supervise and develop the Credit & Risk team, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality service.


• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure debt capitalization, develop innovative credit evaluation methods, and enhance risk management frameworks.


• Monitor portfolio performance, delinquency rates, and loan recoveries, preparing detailed reports for executive management, the board, and external funders.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field (Master's, MBA, or relevant advanced degree preferred).


• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in credit risk management, underwriting, and lending within CDFI, banking, or nonprofit finance sectors.


• Expertise in working with SBA Programs (e.g., SBA7a, Microloan, SBA Express, Community Advantage).


• Proven ability to develop and implement risk management strategies while aligning with mission-driven goals.


• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing high-performing teams and overseeing credit and risk functions.


• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills with a commitment to advancing mission to support underserved communities.
