Job Description:
As a Software Engineering Consultant, you will:
- Provide expert consultation on complex initiatives with significant impact and extensive planning requirements.
- Review and analyze intricate, large-scale, or long-term software engineering challenges, requiring comprehensive evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles and unprecedented elements.
- Contribute to resolving multifaceted situations by leveraging a deep understanding of software engineering functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate strategically and consult with client personnel to meet deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases.
- Understanding of relational database concepts versus big data concepts.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Spark and Spark SQL.
- Proficiency in Unix and Shell Scripting.
- Experience with Hadoop, preferably MapR (Hortonworks/Cloudera is a plus).
- Familiarity with containerization tools (OpenShift/Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Cloud experience (GCP, AWS, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with S3 is a plus.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
