Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Lexington Park, MD.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Payroll Processing: Payroll Specialist will accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and correct compensation, including deductions, bonuses, and overtime

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure payroll tax filings are completed on time, including federal, state, and local tax regulations; Work with tax authorities to resolve discrepancies

  • Timekeeping & Attendance: Review and verify employee timesheets, attendance records, and PTO balances to ensure accuracy before processing payroll

  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain payroll reports for management, including earnings, deductions, and tax liabilities

  • Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related issues such as pay discrepancies, deductions, and tax withholdings

  • Benefit Deductions: As a Payroll Specialist, you will administer employee benefit deductions (e.g., health insurance, retirement plans) in compliance with company policies and applicable laws

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of payroll data, including pay history, tax forms, and employee changes

  • System Maintenance: Update and maintain payroll system with employee data, salary changes, new hires, terminations, and status changes

  • Year-End Reporting: Assist with year-end processing, including the preparation and distribution of W-2 forms







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
