Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer in Birmingham, AL.

Responsibilities:

• Data Engineer will design, implement, and maintain robust Datamart using Hive and SQL to support business analytics and reporting


• Optimize and troubleshoot complex queries for large datasets to ensure performance and accuracy


• Develop ETL processes to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources


• Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure the integrity of data


• Write clean, efficient and maintainable code, adhering to industry best practices


• Develops and implements strategies to improve systems


• As a Data Engineer, you will troubleshoot, debug, and optimize automation processes for maximum efficiency


• Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems


• Monitors and tests system performance


• Oversees the training of junior engineers to improve job skills and work efficiency


• Typically has full ownership of a process


• May act as a procedural expert

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field


• 3 years of experience


• Must have experience with SSIS and SSRS


• SQL/Python (primary skills)


• Company is migrating from SQL to Snowflake - Snowflake experience will prioritize candidates


• Candidates with HIVE will be prioritized


• Working on features in SAFe Agile manner


• Additional environment insight: CICD - microservices, EKS services, Rest API's, AWS


• Cloud and data engineering is a plus


• Banking experience is a plus


• Nice to have/Comfortable in .NET

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
