Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Microsoft 365 Engineer in Southfield, MI.

Responsibilities:


  • Microsoft 365 Engineer will oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams)

  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure high availability and performance of Microsoft services

  • Provide advanced escalation support for M365 issues that cannot be resolved by Help Desk

  • Develop and execute strategies for Office 365 migrations and enhancements while ensuring minimal business disruption; This includes Mobile Device Management (MDM), security and compliance solutions (i.e. Intune, Defender)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate M365 tools into workflows for enhanced productivity and communication

  • Work closely with security analysts to ensure cloud services and identity management solutions (i.e., DUO, Azure AD) are properly implemented to meet business requirements while balancing IT security risks

  • Monitor systems for security breaches, report potential intrusions and assist IT security teams in response actions

  • Implement, test, and validate robust data backup, business continuity and disaster recovery plans for M365

  • Develop, maintain and provide training to appropriate IT administrators on the use of automated recurring tasks and systems configurations using tools such as PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Power Automate

  • Provide after-hours support for critical system issues or scheduled maintenance tasks

  • Stay informed of new M365 features and proactively recommend enhancements or new tools

  • Support end-user training and awareness programs for efficient use of the M365 platform

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for data within the M365 cloud, aligning with HIPAA, PCI DSS, and other relevant frameworks

  • Perform other related duties as assigned







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 services and administration

  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and M365 services

  • Proficient in scripting and automation, particularly with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API

  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, security protocols, and system integration principles

  • Experience with MDM, hybrid environments, and conditional access policies

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical issues

  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic IT environment

  • Demonstrated ability to balance and organize multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent writing skills for creating IT-related compliance documents

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: M365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Administrator, or equivalent are highly desirable

  • Experience with financial and healthcare-related applications is a plus






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
