Job Summary

This position supports the overall operation of the Residence Life and Housing and Dining Services Departments and serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, vendors and other visitors to the office. Responsibilities include providing quality customer service, disseminating information and answering questions, handling correspondence, maintenance of confidential files. This individual works closely with Human Resources and is responsible for maintaining the personnel records of the departments 250 graduate and undergraduate student staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year experience in an office setting and working with the general public


• Excellent communication (oral, written, and listening) and customer service skills


• Ability to maintain a clear and courteous telephone manner


• Ability to exercise tact and good judgment and maintain confidentiality


• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships


• Excellent computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office-Excel, Word, Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at a college or university


• Experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidential records


• Knowledge of FERPA


• Experience working with human resources

The starting salary range for this position is $35,306.00, based on the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
