Position Summary:

Aids the VPAA in managing academic student success initiatives. Supports the College's Deans' Council and the College's student success model. Confidential executive professional; performs complex and varied office functions under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty. Requires discretion and confidentiality, organizational skills, the ability to follow College policies and operations, and the ability to use varied office and academic technologies


Reporting and Supervisory Relationships:

Reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty


Essential Responsibilities:



  • Communicating with varied stakeholders in both Academic and Student Affairs (as well as external stakeholders that support student success), supports the VPAA in his or her efforts to adopt and/or implement the College's current student success model..






  • Supports student success by overseeing and assisting in the creation, printing, and distribution of all student evaluations.





  • Supports student success by maintaining program and instructional records, such as official

  • course outlines, two-year program schedules, and minimum qualifications to teach.





  • Collects feedback on the course schedule from varied stakeholders to aid the VPAA and deans to establish a schedule of classes that facilitates student success.





  • Helps the VPAA to administratively implement a robust faculty development program related to promoting student success. This may involve the payment of speakers, the processing of individual faculty development requests, and the coordination of some administrator or faculty development travel.





  • Collects and prepares board report materials highlighting faculty work related to student academic quality and student success.





  • Consulting the VPAA when necessary, exercises discretion and judgment to remove barriers for faculty and students related to academic quality and student success whenever appropriate.





  • Provides administrative support to the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty and the Deans' Council.





  • Compiles overload reports budget reports, and other financial materials for the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty and Academic Deans.





  • Rolls over courses from previous year to facilitate scheduling for every term in a timely fashion.





  • Establishes a calendar for payroll tasks undertaken by administrative assistants in every term in a timely fashion. Serves as a backup to deans' administrative assistants when necessary.





  • Codes course sections as needed each semester, and assists administrative assistants with full-time faculty overload pay, adjunct faculty salaries, and pay for administrators and staff on teaching assignments.





  • Coordinates convocation, tenure celebrations, and other events organized by academic affairs.





  • Support and advance the college's Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HIS) initiatives through outreach, academic support, and student engagement.





  • Coordinate services specifically designed to enhance the academic experience for Hispanic/Latino/a/x students.





  • Develop partnerships with community organizations that serve Hispanic/Latino/a/x populations to create pathways for student recruitment and success.





  • Performs other duties as assigned by the VPAA.








Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelors in higher education or related field.






  • Five years of experience working in one or more higher education student services.





  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within higher education settings





  • Strong computer and analytical skills.





  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office.





  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.





  • Cultural competency and understanding of the unique challenges faced by Hispanic/Latino/a/x students in higher education.





  • Ability to maintain confidential information, and make independent judgments.





  • Strong organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in higher education or related field.






  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) to actively engage with Hispanic/Latino/a/x students and their families.





  • Experience working in a college or business environment working for an executive.





  • Proficiency in Colleague and other college databases and academic technologies.


Anticipated Work Hours and Days:

Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.


Salary:

$53,782 - $86,038
