Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and University Service
Lead the development and enhancement of course content and curriculum ensuring alignment with industry standards and academic excellence.
Design and implement new courses in course development and continually update existing courses based on evolving field trends and student feedback (4-5 courses per fiscal year).
Support in the assessment and evaluation of course effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
Address and resolve curriculum-related issues submitted as tickets through Canvas.
Collaborate with full-time and visiting professors in the Teaching & Learning department for courses within the healthcare information technology domain.
Teaching and Academic Support
Demonstrate excellence in the delivery of courses within Canvas (15 - 30 credit hours per fiscal year)
Advising and mentoring students to support their academic and professional growth.
Contribute to university service through active participation in curriculum committees and other college initiatives
Support and advise visiting professors on curriculum-related matters.
Professional Development
Engage in professional development activities, including staying current in the field and participating in relevant scholarly activities.
Contribute to college and curriculum-related activities and initiatives focused on faculty professional development.
Qualifications:

Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in the field being taught or Doctorate Degree in related field with at least 18 graduate hours in field being taught.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.
Three to five years of experience in healthcare information systems, network topologies, telecommunications, and information technologies for health data storage and communication.
Strong background in Healthcare IT infrastructure, including EHR implementation, IT security, and system integrations.
Practical experience in health IT project management or systems development.
Regulatory compliance and data management, with a technology focus (e.g., HIPAA security, HIT implementation challenges).
At least two years of demonstrated ability to teach and utilize health IT systems, software, and databases.
Demonstrated ability to integrate emerging HIT tools into curriculum and instruction.
Participation in university committees and professional organizations.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams in professional settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Five years previous teaching experience in HIT-related topics
Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)orCertified Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS)
