GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The Vice President of Marketing, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Customer Care and Public Engagement, leads the agency's marketing and communications strategy. This role is key in defining and promoting VIA's internal and external brand, driving awareness of its mission. The Vice President is responsible for developing messaging, marketing strategies, and a strong brand identity in collaboration with the senior executive management team. As a VIA spokesperson, they will enhance the agency's visibility and support its mission and goals. Additionally, the Vice President oversees brand development, marketing campaigns, and performance metrics. They manage marketing strategies, automation systems, and the department’s planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term marketing and branding strategy that effectively communicates VIA’s strategic goals. Identify and leverage all relevant digital media platforms, including the website, digital advertising, social media, and other designated channels.
Serve as the brand manager, positioning the agency in the market and defining target audiences. Develop tactical marketing plans and deliver communications through appropriate channels to engage the target market. Ensure consistency in narrative and brand profile, overseeing both proactive and reactive communications.
Create a strategic communications platform to enhance the agency’s profile and reach with key stakeholders. Guide senior leadership and other stakeholders, ensuring they are informed and involved in communications and marketing efforts.
Oversee social media, website, and media relations strategies, ensuring effective execution. Manage the communications budget, staffing decisions, and the engagement of support services. Cultivate professional growth opportunities for the marketing and communications team, fostering a creative work environment.
Supervise daily operations across multiple departments, developing long- and short-term strategies. Implement cost-saving measures while optimizing performance through data-driven analysis and measurement of outputs. Ensure adherence to organizational policies and manage development and planning efforts within defined scopes.
Analyze marketing workflows, identifying gaps in data, consumer acquisition strategies, and data quality. Collaborate with the TI Department to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and enhance departmental efficiency through continuous improvements in marketing operations and processes.
Define key marketing metrics, manage reporting processes, and ensure consistent monitoring of campaigns. Optimize lead and campaign management practices and maintain data quality within the marketing database.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
Ten (10) years of experience in a public transit agency, including marketing and government relations for a government or corporate entity. Six (6) years of experience in a management position is required.
Experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis of up to four years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Business Administration (MBA) focusing on marketing, or a Master's in Marketing.

Strong analytical skills to assess marketing performance, track KPIs, and leverage data to optimize strategies and campaigns.
Proficiency in managing large marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring cost efficiency.
Ability to develop long-term strategies that align with business goals and adapt to changing market conditions.
Deep understanding of digital platforms, SEO, SEM, content marketing, social media, email campaigns, and marketing automation tools.
Expertise in defining, maintaining, and evolving a brand’s identity across various channels and ensuring consistency.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal teams, senior executives, clients, and key external partners.
Experience in leading organizational change, particularly in marketing strategy and implementation, to adapt to evolving business goals.
Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple initiatives and ensure timely execution.
Must be able to maintain good work attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical ability required to be mobile, bend, stoop, stand, reach and lift objects weighing 5-25 pounds such as files, supplies, equipment and large heavy reference manuals and books.

Work involves deadlines and multiple priorities.
Generally, works within a normal office environment.
Requires irregular hours and off-property travel.
It requires both local and out-of-town travel.
