The Head of the Markets Group leads key activities that include implementing market operations consistent with Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) authorization and directives, monitoring and analyzing global financial market developments, executing lender of last resort operations and collateral valuation services, providing financial services for foreign and international monetary authorities, and providing capital market-related services to the U.S. Treasury as its fiscal agent. 

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York (Bank) seeks an inspiring and experienced leader to serve as Head of the Markets Group, a pivotal role responsible for setting the strategic vision and driving operational excellence across the Group. Reporting directly to the President and CEO of the Bank, you will work collaboratively with the Executive Committee to set the strategic direction for the Markets Group and work to drive strategic initiatives for the Bank and Federal Reserve System to advance our mission, vision, and values.

Your role as Head of Markets Group: 

  • Inspire, motivate, and empower others to achieve goals, and foster an inclusive environment that allows everyone to do their best work. 

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the Markets Group in accordance with the Bank mission, vision and values, while also being an active participant in the development of the Bank’s strategic efforts. 

  • Effectively communicate, advocate, and proactively advance the principles, values, strategy, and priorities of the Bank, bringing managers and leaders along in their understanding and ability to align and execute accordingly. 

  • Partner with colleagues within the Bank and throughout the Federal Reserve System, as well as with external stakeholders, to identify and address business needs, using influence and empathy to build relationships by earning trust and confidence. 

  • Provide the highest quality service and execution of operational responsibilities and ensure that all governance and control requirements are achieved to the highest standards. 

  • Evaluate the Group’s structures and teams on an ongoing basis to ensure continuous improvement, as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of the group. 

  • Build strong and inclusive teams within the Markets Group. 

  • Engage with individuals to monitor and assess their professional and personal growth, with emphasis on developmental opportunities. 

  • Lead the program vision to evolve our technology to effectively support monetary policy implementation, global financial stability, and the role of the US Dollar as the global reserve currency.

  • U.S. Citizenship required 

Salary Range: $450000 - $515000 / year

We pay individuals along this range based on their unique backgrounds.
