Position Summary

The Accounting Intern will provide assistance to the Finance Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.

Primary Accountabilities

• Assist with daily and monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and consistency.
• Support the production of financial reporting, helping to prepare statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with projects within the Accounting Department, contributing to various initiatives to improve processes and workflows.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• The internship will run for Summer of 2025 beginning mid-May and ending early-August.
• Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham Corporate office.
• Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including Finance or Accounting at a college or university with at least 2 years completed.
• Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
• Works well in team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Teams.
• Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
