Job Summary:
Coach USA is seeking an In-House Senior Paralegal for its Central office in Paramus, NJ. This position will be dedicated to providing full-time support to its General Counsel with experience in corporate compliance and support with public and private clients, vendor agreements, leases/licenses and labor and employment litigation management. Responsibility includes oversight of corporate governance for the parent company and its subsidiaries in the US and Canada. We are looking for a highly organized and detail oriented individual who can create, record and maintain various contracts and documents in a SAAS program database. This fast-paced opportunity requires an individual who demonstrates the capability to plan for and manage multiple activities, projects and deliverables. As a Senior Paralegal, familiarity and/or experience in customer and vendor contract reviews, property leases, governmental compliance and/or corporate governance will be included in the role's responsibilities dependent on experience.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (required):
Ramp up and maintain the document repository including collaboration with a Repository Committee
Respond to and coordinate with Executive and Senior leadership on legal compliance matters for parent company and its subsidiaries in multiple states, including Maryland, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Jersey and New York and provinces of Ontario and Montreal
Maintain the corporate governance of the parent company and its subsidiaries
Assist and support the General Counsel on employee terminations, performance management, investigations, leave of absence management, accommodations, reorganizations, background checks, union issues, wage and hour and other employment-related matters
Draft and/or edit legal documents, correspondence, and agreements
Coordinate and support pre-litigation and litigation matters with external counsel
Identify, collect and produce electronically stored information in response to lawsuits and investigations (e-discovery)
Support the General Counsel with litigation management and collaborate with IT, Risk, business units, outside counsel and Subject Matter Experts to understand and coordinate the requirements of Legal Hold Orders; take steps, administrate and support initiatives to ensure compliance with such requirements
Engage with IT, business units, and Subject Matter Experts to maintain the Records Management Policy
Respond and/or coordinate subpoenas from law enforcement agencies, etc.
Support and assist negotiations with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes, including settlement conferences
Research and analyze the law on various legal issues and provide summaries to the General Counsel or executive of the organization
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and familiarity with legal documents (ie: governance, customer and vendor contracts, EEOC charges, position statements, interrogatories, etc.)
Strong ability to take direction but also exercise judgement and independent thought
Ability to handle confidential information
Strong organizational skills, including task prioritization with minimal supervision and ability to complete required tasks by given deadlines
Strong proactive approach, taking the initiative where appropriate
Strong oral and interpersonal skills
Self-reliant and can work independently in the absence of a large support staff to assist in the preparation of legal documents

Relationship building with all levels of management both internal and external
