The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities within an organization. This role involves coordinating with various departments to develop maintenance schedules, managing resources, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed on time and within budget. The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability and performance.
Maintenance Scheduling and Coordination:
* Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
* Coordinate with maintenance technicians and other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
* Plan parts for all projects to increase "wrench time" and maximize efficiency.
* Execute all planning and scheduling, shutdown plans, and other maintenance activities to drive out losses.
* Oversee plan creation for upcoming maintenance windows and ensure all needed parts are ordered and personnel requested.
Budget and Resource Management:
* Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
* Review maintenance expenses, forecast, and plan upcoming activities to minimize costs.
Record Keeping and Data Analysis:
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory levels.
* Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Weekly tracking and reporting of maintenance measurement data - Backlog, MTBF, PM Completion.
Safety and Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
* Identify and address safety risks related to maintenance activities.
* Ensure specific safety hazards are identified for each job and communicate LOTO procedures for specific tasks.
Continuous Improvement:
* Continually update PMs and Work Instructions to reflect new learnings about improvements/failures.
* Own TPM PM Pillar work management system for the Line, focusing on Breakdown Elimination, Maintenance Planning, and Scheduling.
* Own the health of the Defect Handling system.
* Support the development of,and lead the execution of, the 90-Day Plan.
Team Collaboration and Development:
* Work with cross-functional teams to address safety and food quality issues to prioritize and update.
* Coach and develop teams by serving as a technical coach and resource.
* Collaborate with other planners to support activities and resources across the plant.
* Partner with inventory specialist to improve the storeroom.
Daily and Weekly Tasks:
* Contribute to the development and execution of the Plan for the Day.
* Daily reporting and prioritization of defects found, fixed, and total backlog.
* Daily reporting of breakdowns (includes leveraging Breakdown Elimination).
* Attend critical maintenance meetings and breakdown RCA meetings.
* Complete audit follow-ups for your lines/systems.
* Spend floor time to gather info on stops and defects to build Plan for the Day.
* Investigate what items/Work Orders were not completed and why.
* Attending shift transition huddles.
* Discuss stops, breakdowns, and root causes, and establish countermeasures in the Plan for the Day.
* Review work orders completed and work orders on the schedule for the day.
* Assign an owner to follow-ups on a daily plan.
* Request support from leadership and support groups to remove barriers.
* Carry out action items on the Plan for the Day.
* Execute health checks on TPM.
* Track and manage contractors.
* Participate in the PM pillar meeting.
* Kit parts to schedule a work order for mechanics.
* Update Plan for the Day.
* Assign action item owners for the Night Shift (if needed).
* Pass along critical information to Night Shift Supervisors and maintenance technicians.
* High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree or certification preferred.
* At least 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
* SAP PM/MM.
* S4/Hana.
