Dr. Vladi Karniychuk's laboratory at the Department of Veterinary Biosciences, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Research Technician 2 to conduct scientific research in virology. The work includes cell culture, work with viruses, and molecular techniques.
The candidate will be expected to conduct research, provide technical assistance to the PI, and help with student training. In addition, the technician will perform performing miscellaneous lab and office duties as assigned by the PI, including, but not limited to, ordering supplies, waste disposal, and helping the PI with organizing and coordinating meetings and projects
Bachelor's or Masters' degree in a biological sciences is required. Masters' preferred. Experience in a a research laboratory is required. Experience in a virology laboratory preferred.
Position is 6 month contract renewable based on performance and available funding.
Standing for extended periods; working at computer screens; working with sharps, hazardous chemicals, biohazardous, and if needed with animals.

Additional Information:The targeted hiring range for this position is $15 - $18.51 per hour commensurate with education and experience.
