Job Description:

Position Summary:


The Director Business Development is responsible for Identify new customers within the geographies that Total Safety serves (TX, CA, LA) in the industries Total Safety Serves – Utilities, Petrochemical, Refining, Transportation, Industrial Manufacturing, Metals and Mining, large industrial complexes. This role will require travel to attend trade shows and networking events to help build relationships.


Responsibilities


•Identify new customers within the geographies that Total Safety serves (TX, CA, LA) in the industries Total Safety Serves – Utilities, Petrochemical, Refining, Transportation, Industrial Manufacturing, Metals and Mining, large industrial complexes 


•Collaborate with the sales team(s) and develop a target list of prospect customers which fit Total Safety’s customer profile


•Establish a pipeline / funnel of sales prospects and develop a business development account plan 


•Set appointments, follow up on leads and cold call prospect customers 


•Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application to manage leads and sales activities 


•Stay up to date on market trends, competitor activities and industry developments 


•Attend trade shows and networking events to build relationships and generate leads


•Provide regular updates to management 


Qualifications 


•10+ years of successful track record in business development role


•Distribution experience must, Value Add Distribution is a plus 


•Ability to build and nurture customer relationships. Servant leadership mind set 


•Strong verbal and written communication skills 


•Strong problem solving and negotiation, time management and organizational skills


•Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, individual contributor. 


•Track record of collaborating with sales and operations teams and demonstrated success in sales organizations that foster teamwork


•Bachelor’s degree in business 


•50-60% travel 


Physical Demands


While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.


Work Environment


Will be working in an office environment. Travel to client locations will be required.


Reporting Relationships


Position reports to the President of Distribution
