Group Insurance has an exciting opportunity for a Business Data Specialist to become part of the Inquiry & Resolution Team. This team plays a crucial role in implementing key initiatives aimed at improving the Group Insurance service model and its administrative practices, with the primary objective to address complex or systemic business challenges.

The Business Data Specialist is an individual contributor pivotal in driving business efficiency and enhancing the customer experience through rigorous data analysis and process optimization. The Business Data Specialist is responsible for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of current business processes and identifying quantifiable, sustainable improvements. The role demands a strong focus on customer experience, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive and efficient outcomes. An important function of this role is leveraging data collected throughout the organization to extract valuable insights about the customer experience. The successful candidate will work both independently and with a team, providing direction and business support.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:


  • Serve as a strategic thought partner, identifying areas of improvement and partnering cross-functionally to deliver outcomes intended to improve customer service delivery and optimized internal operations.


  • Leverage data to identify and define areas of opportunity. Collaborate with key business partners to collect data, organize the information, and translate results into solutions. Drive positive change and informed business decisions.


  • Execute on action plans necessary to address self-identified process gaps and areas of risk.


  • Coordinate cross functional initiatives with business stakeholders across product, distribution, and the administration delivery lifecycle.


  • Determine, develop, and document best practices and procedures for the organization leveraging current procedures and expertise on the team.


  • Collaborate with key control partners on operations and initiatives to ensure appropriate levels of controls are in place.


What you’ll need:


  • Strong ability to analyze data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities to drive business decisions.


  • Experience with data analysis tools and methods to interpret complex data sets.


  • In-depth understanding of the organization’s business processes and operations.


  • Ability to map out processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements.


  • Demonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge to develop practical and impactful solutions which enhance the customer journey.


  • Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to a wide range of stakeholders.


  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills for effective collaboration and consultation across the organization.


  • Strong project management skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.


  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.


  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau and PowerBI).

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $92,400.00 to $137,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
