Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a Traffic Coordinator in the Traffic
Engineering section of Safety Engineering. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting wage
range of $27.10 - $31.10 per hour, DOQ.

Primary Responsibilities:
• The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for supervision and coordination of traffic data collection, ,
sight obstructions, striping layouts, traffic field investigations and observations from both internal
and external customers.
• Under Traffic Engineering Supervisor direction, the Traffic Coordinator will supervise and coordinate
the activities of the Traffic Analysts and Technicians on the Traffic Engineering team.
Qualifications:
• Requires strong communication skills (both verbal and written), coupled with the ability to work as
a liaison between Traffic Engineering staff, other ACHD departments, and with the public.
• The successful candidate should have considerable knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices (MUTCD), particularly Parts 2, 3, and 7 and plan design. Familiarity of other parts
of the MUTCD is a plus.
• Working knowledge of the ADA and other accessibility regulations, engineering principles and
practices, techniques used in collecting data on traffic volume and speed, traffic hazards and speed
management devices.
• Must have the ability to supervisor and train others in methods and techniques in a specialized
industry.
• Requires a valid Idaho Driver’s License and the ability to obtain TCT and TCS certifications within 1-
year.
• Experience in practical engineering work; supervisory training, supplemented by college level courses
in science, math, or civil engineering OR any combination of education and experience, which
provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is acceptable.
