About the Role
The Director of Marketing Planning and Strategy, Membership within the Integrated Marketing Strategy team will lead Marketing strategy for grow membership (Signups, upgrades and renewals) to establish the marketing strategy and deliver against membership initiatives and goals (drive acquisition, loyalty, and retention). Collaborating with Membership, Personalization, and the Planning teams, they ensure seamless alignment across member touchpoints, and enable the translation of business goals into impactful, data-driven strategies and marketing plans that elevate member engagement and support long-term growth objectives.
What You'll Do...
•Embedded Marketing Strategy:Serve as strategic marketing partners to the Membership business, translating business objectives-like acquisition and loyalty-into targeted marketing initiatives and briefs. Guide key programs such as new member partnerships, Sam's Cash & Card value propositions, and member communications, ensuring they align with growth and retention goals. Lead the development of integrated marketing campaigns that utilize a mix of online and in-store touchpoints to promote objectives.
•Lifecycle Strategy with Personalization: Collaborate with the Personalization team on lifecycle strategies, from acquisition to loyalty, ensuring member strategies are smoothly integrated and drive personalized, data-backed experiences.
•Strategic Partnership with Planning Team: Set the strategic foundation and member-focused goals for acquisition and engagement campaigns for the Planning team to develop the marketing plan. Collaborate with the team to finalize the marketing plan that includes channels, timing, messaging, and creative, and consult on ongoing optimizations.
•Integrated Communication Across Channels: Develop consistent communications across online and in-store channels, working with Personalization and Planning teams to reinforce Membership's value and benefits at every member touchpoint.
•Performance Measurement and Strategy Adjustment: Monitor and ensure delivery against agreed upon KPIs for acquisition, loyalty, and upgrades, collaborating with Membership, Planning, and Marketing Intelligence teams to refine strategies based on performance data and evolving member needs.
•Data-Driven Member Experience: Use member behavior insights to inform strategies, improving NPS and LTV through optimized value propositions, experience, and rewards programs.

•Embedded Business Marketing and Strategic Planning: Expertise in working within business units to translate objectives into focused marketing strategies, particularly within membership-driven environments with goals in growth, retention, loyalty, and value creation.
•Lifecycle Strategy Development: Strong ability to craft lifecycle strategies across acquisition, retention, and upgrades, to create seamless member journeys that are both data-driven and strategically aligned.
•Data Insight and Member Experience Optimization: Advanced skills in leveraging member insights to refine value propositions and experiences, with a track record of driving NPS, loyalty, and member satisfaction through data-informed strategy adjustments. Strong understanding on member-facing experiences and platforms (e.g., email, SMS, push).
•Integrated Communication Management Across Channels: Proficiency in managing multi-channel communications that consistently reflect Membership's objectives, ensuring alignment across digital, physical, and in-store channels.
•Strategic Performance and Optimization Mindset: Ability to define and track performance metrics, applying data to make ongoing refinements that enhance member engagement and retention while staying aligned with business objectives.
•Cross-Team and Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work cross-functionally, manage multiple stakeholders, oversee change management, and resolve conflicts

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 4 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 7 years'experience in marketing or related field.
