Job Description
The Total Rewards Specialist will lead the strategy and implementation of the organization's Compensation and Benefits Programs. This position will collaborate closely with the VP of HR and Finance to manage and deliver benefits, wellness, leave, and compensation initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact for these areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits
Coordinate the Open Enrollment process for employee benefits, including group health plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
Serve as the primary internal and external point of contact for benefits-related inquiries.
Manage the processes for employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Oversee and ensure compliance in processing and monitoring leaves of absence, including FMLA, disability, and workers' compensation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Perform regular reconciliations of benefits and assist with audits and escalated issues.
Audit benefit plans and invoices on a regular basis, supporting the preparation of 5500 reports.
Work closely with the VP of HR to participate in annual benefits strategy meetings, providing recommendations on plan design to align with company goals.
Drive process improvements in benefit enrollment workflows, leaves of absence, and integration of new HR software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Stay current with state and federal legislation affecting benefits and leave entitlements, ensuring compliance.
Create and update materials to enhance employees' understanding of available benefits.
Respond to inquiries and resolve issues from employees, vendors, and HR team members promptly and accurately.
Compensation
Maintain pay structures and ensure they align with market data.
Provide training and support for compensation-related processes, including merit increases, bonuses, promotions, adjustments, and new hire offers.
Conduct salary surveys to ensure competitive and up-to-date market data.
Risk Management/Reporting
Serve as the liaison with the company's workers' compensation provider.
Ensure accurate completion of the OSHA 300 log.
Respond to audit requests and manage the collection, tracking, and reporting of metrics that support the Human Resources Strategy.
