Job Description: VP of Business Development

The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for driving growth and revenue through strategic partnerships, new business development, and sales leadership in large-scale industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors. This executive role requires a blend of strategic thinking, industry expertise, and exceptional relationship-building skills.Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution
  • Develop and implement long-term growth strategies for large-scale projects in industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors.
  • Identify new market opportunities and potential partnerships in these high-value sectors.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business decisions.

Business Development and Sales
  • Set and achieve revenue targets for large-scale projects.
  • Oversee the business development process by acquiring and defining project opportunities.
  • Prepare, develop, and deliver high-quality proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Participate in the estimating and budgeting process for competitive proposals.

Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals for large-scale projects.

Project Oversight
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from pre-construction to execution phase.
  • Provide leadership on financial and profitability aspects of new projects.
  • Establish profit margins with the Director of Preconstruction and Project Manager.

Team Leadership
  • Lead and manage the business development team, setting goals and providing mentorship.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop company-wide strategies and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and open communication within the team

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in business development roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions focused on large-scale industrial, data center, or healthcare projects.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of closing contracts in the $50-500 million range for large-scale projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction procedures, trade practices, building codes, and project scheduling specific to industrial, data center, and healthcare sectors.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills; proficiency in financial planning, resource management, and data analysis; experience in strategic planning and execution for large-scale capital projects.
