Director of Business Development - DoD/Government Programs
Location: Huntsville, AL (preferred)
Salary: $175-215k base + 10-15% bonus potential
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain US Secret Clearance
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Business Development to drive growth in DoD and Government programs. This individual will play a pivotal role in expanding business across agencies like Space Force, USAF, DARPA, and Missile Defense. You will leverage existing connections, develop capture strategies, and shape opportunities that align with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and capture new opportunities in DoD space, missile, and hypersonic programs.
Build and manage relationships with DoD agencies, government stakeholders, and industry partners.
Lead proposal development, including strategy, pricing, and execution.
Drive competitive analysis and price-to-win strategies.
Participate in conferences, customer presentations, and industry panels.
Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to ensure alignment on business goals.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in aerospace/defense with strong DoD connections (Space Force, USAF, DARPA, MDA).
Proven success in capture management and proposal leadership for government contracts.
Understanding of DoD acquisition processes, pipeline development, and competitive positioning.
Experience with space, missile, or hypersonic systems is a plus.
Strong presentation and leadership skills.
Willingness to travel 20-50%.
