Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sales & Product Development Manager with extensive experience in the apparel industry to lead and drive sales initiatives within the apparel department of our growing company. This individual will oversee budgets, sales forecasts, and product development while managing a small team of three direct reports. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a strong ability to lead and organize product development, and a passion for achieving sales goals on both national and international levels.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Management
  • Develop and manage budgets and sales forecasts to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with both national and international customers to drive sales growth.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to inform sales strategies and product offerings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales and gross profit metrics.

Product Development
  • Lead and organize the product development team, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Work closely with overseas offices and manufacturing partners in China, Bangladesh, and Pakistan to manage product development timelines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with sourcing partners and maintain a strong understanding of apparel costing and gross profit calculations.

Team Leadership
  • Supervise, mentor, and support three direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Encourage a positive attitude and teamwork across all levels of the organization.

Customer & Supplier Relations
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with overseas offices and suppliers in various time zones, accommodating flexible working hours as needed.
  • Attend customer meetings and presentations in Hong Kong and sourcing countries once or twice annually to strengthen partnerships and drive sales.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain advanced Excel skills for budgeting, product cost analysis, and gross profit calculations.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between sales and product development teams to meet customer needs and deadlines.

Key Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the apparel industry in a sales or product development role.
  • Proven experience in sales management and product development within the apparel sector.
  • Strong background in gross profit and product costing calculations.
  • Above-average communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cultural and geographic boundaries.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related tools.
  • Flexible and open to working outside of normal business hours to accommodate international customers (compensated with time off).
  • Availability to travel internationally 1-2 times per year.
