US Solar is hiring a Business Development Director who will lead the origination, strategy, structuring and execution of solar and solar + storage power purchase agreements. The Business Development Director will join an experienced team with the primary objective of driving additional contracted pipeline growth with municipal, cooperative and investor-owned utilities and generation and transmission (G&T) suppliers. With experience managing, building and strengthening relationships with prospective utilities, this role will be supported by project development, operations, legal and finance resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop business strategy to secure solar and solar + storage PPAs
Conduct market assessments to identify emerging trends and opportunities with off-take customers
Execute on the strategy by securing and executing PPA / off-take agreements
Lead the business development efforts to grow a significant contracted pipeline
Maintain relationships with power off-takers
Evaluate new markets and execute comprehensive business cases to enhance pipeline growth
Lead preparation of RFP responses and bilateral proposals for PPAs and other project opportunities
Assist the team in preparation of contracts and other documentation required for completing development of solar and storage projects
Prepare and deliver applications, proposals, presentations, etc. to external stakeholders such as local government units and electrical utilities
Organize, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner to meet project schedules and budgets
Core Proficiencies:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in PPA negotiations, with track record of success
Modeling solar and solar + storage benefits for potential customer / counterparties
Developing product offering and delivering proposals which clearly demonstrate value proposition
Ability to execute new project or product opportunities
Self-motivated and driven to exceed expectations
Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Detail-oriented with excellent organization
Completes work in a timely and professional manner
Effective working individually as well as with a team

Requirements:
Demonstrable experience in the industry, specifically with municipal and cooperative utilities and G&T suppliers
Proficiency with energy contract/PPA structuring and execution
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience in a similar role or utilizing similar Core Proficiencies
Strong analytical skills with knowledge of finance/business concepts
