Required Qualifications:
5-7 years' proven experience in data visualization and analysis
Proficient in gathering and cleaning data from various sources (Proficiency level: 4)
Familiar with statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies (Proficiency level: 4)
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate program requirements into technical solutions and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. (Proficiency level: 4)
Good oral (presenting and public speaking) and written (documentation, briefing reports, correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) communication skills. (Proficiency level: 3)
Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments. (Proficiency level: 3)
Preferred Skills:
Extensive experience with Qlik Sense.
Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar data tools.
Familiarity with environmental data.
Description:
Serve as the Data Analyst for the Department's D&A Office to support data visualization and analysis needs. This position supports the Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency developing dashboards and reports using Qlik Sense.
Responsibilities:
Develop visually appealing, intuitive, user friendly, and insightful Qlik Sense dashboards and reports
Advise program areas on which visualizations and analyses would best help them achieve their goals
Collaborate with data engineers and others to gather and clean data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
Use statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
Work collaboratively with program areas to identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure progress toward goals
Collaborate with data engineers and others to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
Monitor data quality to identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting
Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, scientists, and others to understand data needs, address technical challenges, and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization. Provide overall direction, guidance and definition of the enterprise's architecture to effectively support the agency's business strategy.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in D&A practices.
