Our client is looking for a Data Center Technician to join their team! This position will work onsite and be on call 24/7 when required. The Data Center Support person will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the data center.
Description:
The responsibilities for this role include ensuring the proper maintenance of data center equipment, such as managing copper and fiber cable installations and securely racking equipment like network gear, servers, and temperature/humidity sensors. The role also involves proactive monitoring of all production systems and providing remote hands support when needed. Maintaining an accurate and comprehensive data center hardware map, including asset management of ancillary hardware, is essential. Additionally, the candidate will offer first-level troubleshooting and support services for client servers and network devices, escalating issues as necessary. Responsibilities extend to keeping company databases updated with current and precise information, processing all hardware, and working with the corporate ticketing system. The role also includes maintaining thorough documentation and assisting with the deployment of machines, including unboxing and racking.
