Job Description:

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale CA

Duration: 12 Months

We are looking for a Mechanical Design and Prototype Engineer to support our client's display module design, testing, and validation, and to support quick prototyping studies.

Responsibilities:

Work with the cross-functional teams to scope, evaluate, and implement the mechanical design of the display module

3D modeling and 2D drafting in Siemens NX for display components and assembled modules. Support Part status, MCO release, and ECR/ECO in Teamcenter

Support DFM review and closure for display components and assembly process. Design and validate component and assembly tolerance based on DFM requirements and tolerance analysis.

Perform structural and thermal simulation and analysis using Abaqus or other equivalent FEA software

Develop and implement mechanical test items for component-level and module-level validation

Carry out rapid prototyping to demonstrate new technology, new design concepts, and new manufacturing method

Conduct failure analysis for display-related failure, identify root cause, and recommend mitigation design options

Conduct benchmark study through teardown, cross-section, inspection, and measurement, etc.

Skills Must haves:

5+ years of 3D modeling and 2D drafting in Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Similar experience with other CAD and PDM tools including Creo, Pro/E, and SolidWorks can be considered.

At least 5 years of product design experience and familiarity with various manufacturing methods, including injection molding, sheet metal stamping, CNC machining, casting, die cutting, etc.

Proven skills and experience with rapid prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printing, CNC, injection molding), testing, and validations.

Experience and knowledge about PCB/FPC design and fabrication (e.g., stack up, layout, components, connectors, etc.)

Experience performing standard mechanical tests (e.g., pull, compression, bending), and designing customized non-standard tests for evaluation and validation purposes

Fundamental knowledge and experience in thermal analysis, and standard thermal management solutions for consumer electronics product

Nice to Haves:

Direct working experience on LCD and OLED display modules

Experience using Abaqus, Hypermesh (or equivalent FEA software) to run structural simulation analysis

Experience in thermal design and analysis for consumer electronics product

Familiar with statistical analysis tools including Minitab, JMP

Knowledge of Mechanical and environmental reliability tests for consumer electronics product

Education:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
