Job Description/ Day to Day Responsibilities
Teaches learning disabled students and develops for each student realistic long and short team goals
Assesses the needs of each student in the Resource Program in order to provide appropriate individual programs of instruction
Evaluates students who have been referred for possible special education placement
Creates and maintains an effective learning environment in which a positive self-image and self-help actives are stressed
Arranges with staff for mainstreaming of students into regular classes for the instruction and socialization in areas where students can meet success
Provides instruction throughout pullout, push in and/or the collaboration needed
Evaluates students' performances, keeps up to date records of individuals students' progress, recommends revision of the IEP
Coordinates and consults with administrators, general education teachers, parents, and support staff regarding instructional planning for all students in the school/ Directs instructional aides
Integrates the core curriculum program of the school into the resource classroom
