Summary: Perform system integration and functionality testing of robotic palletizing systems within our Vancouver WA factory. Lead customer facing factory acceptance tests for assigned systems. Travel to the customer's facility for system startup, commissioning, technical support, and system operation training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
System integration, testing and troubleshooting: Responsibilities include downloading software, establishing robot set-up parameters, verification of proper mechanical, electrical and system logic operation. Work with live power up to 575 volts
Represent the company during factory acceptance tests and customer demonstrations. Lead customer facing factory acceptance tests for assigned systems. Set up and integration of customer demonstrations and training. Assist the sales department with customer facing demonstration and robot operation.
Company related travel: The responsibilities of this position require 30% travel away from Vancouver WA. This includes in state, out of state, and the possibility of out of country. Modes of travel required are air, rail, bus, and vehicle.
Verify proper electrical and mechanical system installation (at the customer's facility): Verify the system has been installed correctly referencing mechanical and electrical installation prints.
Verification of system functionality and performance (at the customer's facility): Proof testing system devices, PLC logic, safety devices/ features, product handling, load quality, etc. Prove out system functionality and performance in accordance with "As sold" specifications.
Finalizes commissioning of the Robotic palletizing system (at the customer's facility): Initiate the system into the customer's full production. Monitor production.
Conduct customer training (at the customer's facility): Educates and trains customers on system operation, safety features, and proper equipment usage.
Administrative/ Documentation requirements: Responsibilities include reserving travel arrangement, daily communication on project status, completing expense reports, redlining prints, customer related signed documents, uploading programming to our server, uploading photos/ videos to our server, etc. All administrative and documentation requirements will be completed within established time guidelines.
Customer-Required Drug and Alcohol Testing

Employees assigned to work at customer sites or on specific customer-related projects at Columbia Machine, Inc/Columbia Okura, LLC will be subject to any additional drug and alcohol policies and testing programs required by the customer, provided that the policies and programs are consisted with all applicable federal, state and local laws. Before any testing occurs employees who are subject to customer-related testing must sign the Employee Consent to Customer-Required Drug and/or Alcohol Testing Form.
Valid Driver's License and Driving Record that does not fit the criteria of a high risk driver (as noted in our company Vehicle Policy).

Knowledge, skills and/or abilities:

Knowledge-

Proficient
• Mechanical aptitude
• Electrical aptitude
• Pneumatic aptitude
• Blueprint comprehension
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and automation

Abilities- (Within the first 6-12 months)

Proficient
• Identify robot circuits and components
• Ability to safely trouble shoot panels after power up
• Ability to start and operate the robot
• Ability to operate the conveyors
• Ability to navigate and fully utilize OXPA software

Skills

Proficient
• Written and Oral Communication
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Basic hand tools
• Basic power tools
• Math (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division)

Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or GED required
• *Vocational or technical training or education
• 3 years of experience (factory automation, automated machinery, machinery controls, or equivalent)
• Experience may substitute for some of the above education.
