Verta Technologies is currently seeking a qualified candidate to provide support as an
AV Systems Technician lI. Desired candidate traits shall include Professionalism, punctuality, self-starter, positive attitude, attention to detail, and interest in advancement. IT / AV System Technicians are responsible for field troubleshooting of IT/AV systems and must have a strong understanding of signal flow and system schematics. Technicians are required to make detailed notes of system issues and the resolution of issues. The use of Help Desk ticketing system along with other software tools are used to document trouble calls. Technicians regularly interact with customers and employees of all levels and must have good communication skills. The desired candidate can stay calm under pressure and use deductive reasoning to diagnose system issues.
Desired candidates must display a positive attitude and exhibit strong teamwork skills, time management skills, the ability to adapt to changing situations, and the capacity to accommodate hard deadlines are valuable skills.
Common systems an IT/AV Systems technician would troubleshoot may include but are not limited to; computers, network switches, routers, servers, UPS, All-in-one video conferencing solutions, media converters, media extenders, WAP, software, VOIP phones, network cable, and other devices/systems as needed.
Other duties include:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software, hardware, and network issues
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications
- Set up and manage user accounts and permissions
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT projects and initiatives
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and security
- Provide training and support to end-users on IT-related topics
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an AV or IT Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues
- Knowledge of mobile devices (iOS, Android)
- Experience with network management tools is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Requirements:
Some Travel may be required 20% or more. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; CTS or BS equivalent in Technology field/AV, Electronics/ Engineering is desired. Minimum of 5 years experience with audio/video installations and concepts. Individuals should have good oral and written communication skills along with exceptional organizational abilities. Experience with hand tools and good mechanical aptitude is required.
Must be able to read and interpret architectural drawings, system schematics, line drawings, and site plans. Must be able to take direction in both verbal and written form. Individuals will also be responsible for as-assigned duties.
