POSITION OVERVIEW: The purpose of the Solutions / Concept and Estimating department is to provide support to the sales team, in addition to developing and maintaining a standard estimating work process. As a resource to the Sales team, the Solutions Engineer will ensure estimate data will be provided in a format satisfactory to the team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning- Ensure the development and maintenance of company standards and estimating services. Provide a structure that will facilitate a coordinated effort to ensure the proper resources are available at all times to the Sales Team. Identify in a timely manner and assist in the recruitment of new estimating resources as necessary. In addition, planning involves a coordinated effort with the Engineering group to ensure standards, policies and procedures are available for the estimating group.
Coordination- Facilitate effective communication and efficient resource deployment within the estimating group as well as with the Sales Team. Including prioritizing workload effectively and responding in a timely fashion.
Execution- Ensure the commitments of the estimating group are fulfilled. This includes the development and deployment of resources, the implementation and continual improvement of estimating standards, policies and procedures, and providing the primary customer (the Sales Team) with excellent service resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction.
DECISION MAKING
Decide which equipment and vendor is the best choice for the customers application and budget.
Concepting a design, deciding the best use of available space, and best desired flow of product.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
10+ years with a conveyor manufacturer and/or systems integrator, preferred no required
