Under the leadership of the North America Compliance & Privacy Lead, the Privacy & Compliance Manager is responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of the privacy and corporate compliance program at several affiliate companies owned by Otsuka America, Inc. The Privacy & Compliance Manager will work across all facets of the privacy & corporate compliance program, including but not limited to education and training, investigations, auditing and monitoring, standards of conduct, and risk assessments.
Job Description
This position will lead in the development, implementation, and execution of privacy and corporate compliance-related initiatives and strategies to mitigate risks, ensure operations within applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and promote sustainable long-term growth with affiliate companies.
Responsibilities:
Develop, manage and execute upon the annual privacy and corporate compliance work plan for affiliate companies;
Manage periodic risk assessments and ongoing monitoring of key elements of the privacy and corporate compliance program, including privacy notice, consent, and use of data;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department staff and management to implement privacy by design;
Research relevant privacy and corporate compliance regulatory changes and/or issues;
Communicate, train, and educate stakeholders on relevant privacy and corporate compliance policies, procedures, laws, and regulations;
Develop, implement, and maintain relevant privacy and corporate compliance policies and procedures;
Partner with the Otsuka Global Compliance Team to implement global compliance and ethics solutions and tools within North America affiliate companies;
Develop privacy and corporate compliance reports, including identification, tracking, and reporting on key compliance and privacy program performance indicators;
Monitor the effectiveness of the privacy and corporate compliance program;
Conduct investigations of potential privacy and compliance concerns;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Required
Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:
Strong knowledge of compliance and privacy principles, practices, and procedures
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent business acumen and writing skills
Readily adaptable to the changing needs of the business; able to manage multiple priorities; tolerance for ambiguity
Ability to collaborate with multiple parties to solve problems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to prepare reports, conduct investigations, and review documents
Ability to use sound judgement, identify next steps to be taken, and develop appropriate solutions
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or other relevant professional experience
2 to 5 years' of compliance and/or privacy experience
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited ABA law school preferred
Certification in compliance and/or privacy preferred
Pay Range
The starting base pay for this position in the Greater Boston area is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, paid time off, and a benefits package including but not limited to company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and a generous 401(k) match.
$140,000/year - $160,000/year
