A leading organization in Woodbury MN is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Sr. Finance Analyst to lead financial planning, reporting, and operational accounting functions. The ideal candidate will provide strategic insights, drive financial performance improvements, and support operational excellence. This is a critical leadership role requiring expertise in financial management within a manufacturing or operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis
Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key trends and variances.
Prepare comprehensive KPI reports for operational leadership, highlighting critical areas of focus.
Present analysis and actionable recommendations to management teams and finance leadership.
Coordinate the annual budgeting process and develop projections for plant financial performance.
Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing financial insights.
Ensure adherence to financial policies and promote compliance awareness.
General/Operations Accounting
Develop and maintain robust internal controls to protect assets and ensure financial integrity.
Monitor capital project spending for policy compliance, ROI milestones, and timely closure.
Perform post-audit reviews for major capital projects.
Oversee month-end and year-end reconciliations for balance sheets.
Operations Financial Support
Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on production, inventory, spending, and variances.
Monitor and track productivity improvements, ensuring alignment with targets.
Lead financial evaluations for capital investments and ensure consistent methodologies.
Collaborate with plant teams to control capital spending and meet financial performance goals.
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and operational improvements.
Leadership and Resource Management
Advocate for departmental goals, strategies, and budgetary needs to secure necessary resources.
Provide timely and well-documented recommendations to stakeholders.
Manage within approved budgets and support the organization's journey toward operational excellence.
Compliance and Continuous Development
Ensure SOX 404 compliance and audit internal controls regularly.
Promote and participate in safety initiatives at the plant level.
Serve as the financial conscience of the division, providing sound decision-making support.
Continuously enhance skills in finance, leadership, and systems management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, business planning, and analysis.
(3+ years in public accounting considered.)
Experience in a manufacturing environment with planning and accounting responsibilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP experience preferred) and advanced analytical tools.
Strong business acumen, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proven ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive successful initiatives.
