The Director of Inland Marine Underwriting will lead the underwriting team, focusing on the management and growth of the inland marine insurance portfolio. This role requires strategic vision, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to customer service, as well as the ability to develop and mentor staff in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the inland marine underwriting team to achieve business objectives.
Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth of the inland marine insurance portfolio.
Analyze and assess risk factors to make informed underwriting decisions.
Cultivate relationships with agents and clients to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
Mentor and coach underwriters to improve skills and knowledge in technical underwriting and portfolio management.
Monitor market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Prepare and present reports on portfolio performance to senior management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting, with a focus on inland marine insurance.
Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
Strong technical underwriting skills and knowledge of inland marine insurance products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
