Summary:

Responsible for providing technical expertise and support to project management teams, ensuring client needs are met efficiently and within regulatory compliance. The role involves collaboration with internal teams to design, review, and improve civil, structural, or mechanical systems. This position contributes to project success from conception through completion, focusing on safety, efficiency, and alignment with industry standards.

Job Scope and Tasks:
  • Collaborate with project managers to understand client requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.
  • Design, develop, and analyze civil, structural, or mechanical glass systems and components, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Provide technical support during project planning and execution to ensure all systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to verify the integrity and efficiency of designs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, related to engineering design and project execution.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of components and systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
  • Write inspection reports based on field documents, photos, and diagrams.
  • Participate in regular project meetings, providing engineering insight and ensuring alignment between engineering and project management goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance, recommending improvements or modifications as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or Mechanical) Preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in engineering, preferably within construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience in project support and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, AISC, API, ASME) applicable to civil, structural, or mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and industry standards related to civil, structural, or mechanical disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to ensure compliance with all regulatory and client requirements.
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools and software, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate engineering concepts to non-technical personnel.
