This is a long term (12+ month) contract to hire role.
Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cleared Network Engineer to join one of their top federal clients on a large defensive weaponry program. This individual will be joining the Information Services team and will be supporting the Mission of Strategic Deterrence through continuous improvements and innovation. Some of your responsibilities would include:
Set up and configure a variety of network devices and services, such as routers, switches, firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and QoS.
Adhere to established configuration and change management policies to ensure that changes to the network infrastructure are well-documented, approved, and successful.
Collaborate with the company's security team to choose and implement security tools, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate with vendors and other IT staff to resolve issues.
Conduct professional technical tasks that require comprehensive knowledge and diverse application of network engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques.
Oversee the execution of network engineering processes throughout the lifecycle and report on project status and progress against specific plans.
Investigate emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices
Must Haves:
Secret Clearance
CompTIA Sec+ Certification
Bachelor's Degree in a IT or STEM field
8 years of experience in an IT / Networking background: Network engineering design, configuration, maintenance, etc.
Experience actively overseeing and prioritizing several interconnected projects, tasks, schedules, key dates, and subsequent communications
Troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets, including end-user support via phone, email, and remote control
COMSEC knowledge
Experience utilizing DISA STIG checklists to assess and document compliance
Coming from a DoD background
Be able to lift up to 40lbs

Masters Degree
Microsoft Visio and other Microsoft Office Suite tools
Experience analyzing network protocols with Wireshark
Experience installing various networking devices and services: protocols, firewalls, routers, switches, etc.
Conduct network maintenance and system upgrades, including applying service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security settings
Provide Level 2-3 support and troubleshoot issues to resolve them
Follow established configuration and change management policies to ensure changes to the network infrastructure are documented, approved, and successful
Collaborate with the company's security team to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures
Coordinate with vendors and other IT staff to resolve problems
Develop and maintain documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
