Job Summary:

Develops and maintains production planning schedules utilizing MRP information and data from current ERP systems. Coordinates with operations to monitor production status daily to support schedule adherence. This position is based in Sacramento, California.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Planning:
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand, optimize resources, and minimize downtime.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate production of company packaged finished goods and sub-assemblies in various manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate with operations team to ensure schedules align with production capabilities.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to address delays, equipment failures, or supply chain disruptions.

Resource Management:
  • Ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and labor for scheduled production.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and inventory teams to track and forecast material needs.
  • Communicate schedule changes to all relevant departments, ensuring alignment across the organization.
  • Monitor costs to ensure the production planning process meets company objectives.

Workflow Optimization:
  • Analyze production capacity and workflow to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to optimize machine and labor utilization while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of production progress, capacity utilization, and order status.

Reporting & Communication:
  • Generate reports on production performance, scheduling metrics, and resource utilization.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders to ensure alignment on deadlines, priorities, and expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling conflicts and resolve issues.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience:
  • 5+ years production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (planning functions), with an understanding of how to best apply the tools for sound decision-making.
  • Syspro experience a plus.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) proficiency.

Work Environment:
  • This position is based in Sacramento, California.
  • On site work is required. Work from home or remote work is not available.
  • Infrequent travel between company works sites in the Sacramento area may be required.
  • Collaborative team environment with a focus on innovation and results-driven strategies.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
