Title: Director of Card Services Location: Orlando, FL
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong track record of improving and managing payment operations at a fintech company or a bank-sponsoring card program for fintech companies. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is driven by the opportunity to lead and inspire a high-performing team. This role requires experience in managing the underlying payment activities for card products and a well-rounded understanding of electronic funds transfer payment systems like ACH.
Responsibilities: • Develop a short and long-term payment strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. • Identify and lead the implementation of industry-leading payment solutions that enhance customer experience, reduce costs, and drive revenue growth. • Manage vendor relationships with banks, payment processors, card manufacturers, and other key partners in coordination with the company's executive team. • Serve as the internal lead for implementing new payment products and related processes. • Lead the operational aspects of the company's debit and prepaid card programs, including serving as an escalation point for the company's customer and cardholder support teams. • Lead the operational aspects of the Card Services processing activities. • Work with partners (card networks, processors, and banks), partner dealers, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues detected with the company's card programs and payment activities. • Research and identify additional payment products to augment the company's overall products and services. • Work with Compliance to ensure that all AML and consumer protection regulatory compliance requirements are met. • Provide periodic metrics and reporting to the executive management team regarding the performance of the company's payment products.
Qualifications • 10+ years of experience in payments operations with a sponsor bank, fintech, card processor, or card network (preferably Mastercard or Visa). Must include experience as a key member of a team launching or managing cards and payment products. • 2+ years of tactical management experience. • Proven track record of effectively leading payments operations and strategy. • Deep understanding of payment systems, different payment methods, payment messaging, and transaction routing. • Well-rounded understanding of compliance and risks surrounding payment products. • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills. • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university or extensive business management experience across a range of business disciplines.
