Product Quality Analyst Contractor

Location: Austin, TX 78703

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Schedule: Full-time onsite

Pay: $27 - $29/hr, DOE

Duration: ~ 1 year, through 12/31/2025, with the possibility of being extended into 2026

An industry leading grocer based in Austin, is seeking a Product Quality Data Analyst Contractor to join their team. This individual will be working with the Exclusive Brands (EB) division and will be responsible for evaluating products and customer feedback data to identify issues and provide improvement recommendations to EB category leaders and technical teams. Analyze customer feedback data to identify product quality issues and trends. Collaborate with Food Safety and Quality teams to troubleshoot root causes during the manufacturing, storage, and distribution of EB products. Summarize product investigation findings and customer sentiment to communicate quality insights with business stakeholders, including product developers and category managers.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct product review activities under the direction of the Product Quality (PQ) Program Manager as part of the PQ Program to ensure products are consistent with our core values, quality, and brand. Responsibilities include:
    • Coordinate and lead product evaluations of post-launch products and testing results for compliance with federal regulations and our internal requirements.
    • Support investigations of non-conforming and out-of-spec results and collaborate with EB Sourcing, Product Developers, and other Safety and Quality technical teams, as well as EB Suppliers, for root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
    • Support the reviewing, tracking, trending, and reporting of product quality deviations and non-conformance from internal and external product evaluations and testing results to EB stakeholders.
    • Lead the trending, analysis and reporting of product quality performance results and customer feedback for EB Suppliers and products.
    • Monitor existing Suppliers and products for compliance with ongoing periodic testing per the agreed testing protocols.
  • Coordinate periodic 3rd party laboratory testing projects by building testing plans, collecting quotes, and recording results.
  • Act as a project coordinator for cross-functional teams by assisting with prioritizing program and/or project work according to established timelines.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of testing specifications for EB products, as needed.

• Lead or participate in policy and procedure development for the PQ team upon request.

Qualifications:

* B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.

* 2-3 years' experience working in food and/or non-food quality control or assurance department(s) within the retail or food manufacturing packaged goods industry OR in data science/analytics.

* 1 year experience working in quality in a laboratory or manufacturing environment for foods and consumer goods.

* Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and deliver against rapid development timelines.

* Ability to work independently and within a team.

* Ability to make decisions or judgments and know when to seek subject matter expert opinion.

* Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Work).

* Ability to have fun and enable others to have fun while achieving results.
