Job Description:

Job Title: Credit Specialist

Work Location: Albuquerque, NM

Duration: 3 - 6 month contract to direct hire

PURPOSE:

Works under general supervision and is responsible for credit administrative activities, supporting and assisting collection functions, report distribution, and other credit administrative activities. Resolves routine credit and collection situations and requests assistance on highly sensitive accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Job setup administration, including data verification, tax-exempt status, address accuracy, relevant lien notices (where applicable), and entering into ERP.
  • Supporting collection activities by sending out Past Due Notices, payments by phone, running relevant reports, providing statements/invoices to customers (in a collection role), and preparing customer refunds.
  • Scanning and/or filing of customer information. Oversees the opening of new credit accounts and requests for additional credit; compiles bank and trade references, credit reports, and business reports.
  • Supports the gathering of data points necessary for credit establishment and line changes.
  • Answers customer questions regarding account status and billing issues; handles inside sales requests regarding over-limit questions/issues.
  • Creates collection correspondence and prepares lien documents for management action as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or General Educational Degree (GED) and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to personnel and customer matters
