Job Summary: The Logistics Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement process for logistics services in the United States, including truck suppliers, warehousing, customs brokers, and other logistics-related services. The role will focus on cost management by conducting pricing comparisons, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the best prices and service levels are achieved. The Specialist will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to optimize the logistics operations and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Price Negotiation and Procurement:
Manage the daily inquiry, price comparison, and pricing for truck suppliers and other logistics services in the United States.
Ensure the company receives the best possible pricing while maintaining service quality by negotiating with suppliers.
Continuously monitor the market to identify new cost-saving opportunities and evaluate potential suppliers.
Warehousing and Operational Cost Management:
Manage and negotiate the pricing for warehousing and operational fees in the United States.
Perform price comparisons across different warehousing providers to ensure cost competitiveness.
Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure pricing aligns with operational requirements.
New Supplier Onboarding:
Identify and evaluate potential new logistics suppliers, including truck services, warehousing providers, customs brokers, and other relevant services.
Lead negotiations for new contracts with logistics suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
Collaborate with the Procurement Department to establish agreements and align contract terms with company goals and requirements.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with logistics suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contract terms, and address any issues promptly.
Act as a point of contact for logistics suppliers and resolve any issues related to pricing, service, or delivery.
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
Track and analyze logistics procurement costs to ensure that the company is getting the most competitive rates.
Prepare regular reports on logistics costs and savings opportunities to provide visibility to management.
Work with the finance and logistics teams to develop budgets and forecast costs for logistics operations.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with the logistics, operations, and procurement teams to ensure smooth coordination of logistics activities and alignment with business needs.
Assist the procurement team in coordinating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of services.
Support cross-functional teams in identifying and implementing logistics optimization initiatives.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate logistics-related contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the company.
Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to ensure contract compliance and manage renewals.
Regularly review contracts to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with market conditions.
Requirements:
1-3 years of experience in sourcing trucking, warehousing, and ocean freight.
1-3 years of experience in international supply chain management.
1-3 years of experience in negotiating contracts with logistics vendors.
Ability to have regular meetings and communication with key internal supervisors and managers overseas.
Fluent in both Chinese and English, with strong bilingual communication skills.
