We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Project Executive to join our clients leadership team at a leading general contracting firm specializing in multifamily construction in Central Florida. The Project Executive will be responsible for overseeing and leading multiple large-scale multifamily projects from conception through completion. This role requires a combination of high-level project management, leadership, client relations, and operational oversight to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Strategy:
Lead and manage multiple multifamily construction projects, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic goals and client expectations.
Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Provide leadership to project teams to ensure successful project execution, from pre-construction to project closeout.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring all projects are on track to meet deadlines and financial objectives.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business partners, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and expectations, translating them into actionable plans and strategies.
Negotiate contracts and handle contract administration, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with project specifications.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and guide Project Managers, Superintendents, and other team members, providing coaching and support as needed.
Manage internal and external teams to ensure smooth communication and effective problem-solving.
Ensure proper training and development of team members to enhance performance and career growth.
Financial & Budget Management:
Oversee and manage project budgets, ensuring all financial targets are met and expenses are controlled.
Review and approve project financial reports, including cost forecasts, change orders, and invoicing.
Implement cost-saving strategies and monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to maximize profitability.
Ensure proper financial documentation and reporting for all projects under your supervision.
Quality Control & Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to the highest quality standards throughout the construction process.
Establish and enforce quality control procedures and standards across all projects.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize impact on timelines, costs, and client satisfaction.
Manage change orders and unforeseen conditions with an emphasis on minimizing delays and maintaining client satisfaction.
Contract & Legal Compliance:
Ensure that all projects comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, environmental requirements, and safety standards in Central Florida.
Oversee project permitting and inspections, ensuring timely completion of required processes.
Address legal and contractual issues that arise during project execution and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
Pre-Construction & Planning:
Provide leadership during the pre-construction phase, assisting with project budgeting, estimating, and planning.
Collaborate with the estimating team to ensure accurate cost projections and resource allocation.
Participate in project bidding, selection of subcontractors, and development of project schedules.
Operations Management & Process Improvement:
Work to improve operational efficiency across all projects, implementing best practices and standard operating procedures.
Review and refine project management processes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Report on project performance to senior management and make recommendations for process improvements.
Safety & Compliance:
Champion a culture of safety across all projects and job sites.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety standards, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
Address safety violations or incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or executive role managing multifamily construction projects.
Proven experience in large-scale, multifamily residential projects in Central Florida or similar regions.
Skills & Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations in Central Florida.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) and MS Office Suite.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions.
Certifications:
Florida State Certified General Contractor or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
LEED or other sustainability certifications a plus.
