Position: Executive Director

Start Date: Q1 of 2025

Reports to: R&D Impact Foundation's Board of Trustees

Location: Pennsylvania, On-site (Westmoreland and/or Allegheny County)

Salary: DOE ($100 - $180k)

Status: Exempt

Position Summary

This 501(c)(3) organization is seeking a full-time Executive Director who will oversee the strategic direction of our private operating foundation, including the development and implementation of long-term strategies and day-to-day operations.   • Develop and implement strategies that advance the Foundation's mission and vision to ensure long-term

plans align with its objectives.
  • Ensure the Foundation's programs and long-term plans align with its mission and objectives.
  • Lead the Foundation's strategic planning and execution of operations and programs.
  • Engage with local non-profit organizations and community partners to build strong collaborative

relationships within local counties.
  • Serve as a representative and advocate for the foundation's mission while ensuring a culture of teamwork and transparency in all operations.
  • Act with the highest level of integrity and in the organization's best interest.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Foundation, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Manage the Foundation's financial health including; budgeting, financial planning, compliance issues, and oversight of fundraising efforts.
  • Lead and coordinate annual budget reviews and monthly, quarterly, and periodic forecast updates with management.
  • Implement, and oversee major system implementations related to cost and inventory control with clear operational reporting and performance metrics.
  • Implement policies while effectively allocating and managing resources to support organizational goals.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports that communicate results and insights effectively using charts,
  • graphs, and presentations as needed to the board of trustees.
  • Ensure all health and safety guidelines are maintained.
  • Provide leadership to, and manage the efforts of, on-site staff to ensure appropriate support.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain a diverse and highly qualified team, ensuring that all staff receive exceptional
  • training and professional development.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Business / Finance. MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience managing operational budgets
  • 10+ years of non-profit management experience
  • 10+ years of proven leadership experience
  • Has formal or informal experience in diverse, low-income schools/communities (a plus)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (a plus)

Working Conditions / Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Able to access and use Google Teams and Gmail daily
  • Proficient in business software such as Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks to support budgeting, financial

tracking, and reporting to the foundation
  • Able to access reliable transportation to and from the program site
  • Able to attend off-site events as needed
