Building Skills NY (BSNY) is a not-for-profit that works with developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and New York City's workforce development community to link NYC residents to construction jobs. Our mission is to provide stable employment and training for NYC residents interested in construction.
Position Overview
The organization is looking to bring on a Project Manager who can assist the Business Services team as we grow.
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Project Manager to join our team. In addition to project management other responsibilities will include subcontractor outreach, client support and admin support.
This is an in office position - with occasional site travel (within the five boroughs) and occasional early morning remote hours 6am-9am to support construction site hours. The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Business Services.
Responsibilities
Project Management
Maintain tracking system (Excel) and task management system (Asana) for 35+ construction sites *creating new spreadsheets as new sites start.
Utilize Salesforce for documentation and reporting.
Outreach Support to BSNY Employer Network
Monitor outreach campaigns to subcontractors (email, phone and text message campaigns per site) *implementing as new sites start.
Attend occasional trade meetings, developer meetings and General Contractor meetings (pitching BSNY services at in person meetings).
Candidate Support
Support partner candidates with interview logistics and connect to resources as necessary.
Support BSNY training team candidates with resume support, interview logistics and connect to resources as necessary
Support candidate on first day and connect to resources as necessary.
Admin Support
Schedule meetings, share agendas and send follow up emails on outcomes of meetings.
Assist with completing job order forms per subcontractor.
Skills and Qualifications
Comfortable communicating professionally with BSNY Board Members, General Contractors, subcontractors, and BSNY program participants.
Experience in project management and task management.
Experience in creating templates and outreach campaigns.
Experience in sales and working with small businesses is a plus.
Experience working with local NYC construction companies is a plus.
Experience working in not for profits and or workforce development is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be well-organized and detail oriented.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
Able to work well with marginalized populations including long-term unemployed community members. You are also able to work with individuals in a culturally sensitive, empathetic manner.
The ability to communicate well with a diverse group of jobseeker candidates, business owners, and community partners, both orally and in writing, is essential.
Flexible work schedule - must be available to answer calls/texts from clients early in the morning.
Experience with Tasks Management Systems, Salesforce, Microsoft office is a plus.
This is a full-time position and is in person with occasional travel and Friday's remote. The salary range is $70,000 to 80,000 commensurate with experience.
