Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Post-processing Operator operates several types of wide format printers, a cutter and a laminating machine and ensures that manufacturing processes on those are run smoothly and efficiently, adhering to company standards, the Kaizen lean method, specifications, quality control procedures, safety regulations, and other applicable laws.

Beneficial: experience of working with various types of materials, including plastics. Prior experience in wide-format printing is advantageous. The Production Specialist will receive proper training for each machine, the products we produce, and the Kaizen lean model for production. This role involves delivering high-quality products in the most cost-effective manner, according to established standards. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and precision to meet the high standards of our products.

• Machine Operation: Daily operation of machines such as UV and solvent printers, laminating machines and Summa cutters.
Quality Control: Ensuring that products meet quality standards by maintaining quality control procedures.
Kaizen Lean Model: Implementing and practicing the Kaizen lean model daily in all production processes.
Company Standards: Ensuring the work is completed in accordance with company standards and safety protocols.
Workplace Efficiency: Maintaining an efficient and organized working environment.
Job Documentation: Documenting the job accurately and thoroughly.
Machine Maintenance: Regularly performing maintenance on dedicated production machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshooting: Quickly identifying and resolving production issues or machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Training Development: Developing training materials and programs to ensure consistent onboarding and training of new hires.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Education/Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Work will be performed in English.
  • Mathematical Ability: Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10's and 100's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Can use metrics.
  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Manage with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in analyzing data and ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal systems.
  • Proficient in using Caldera software.
  • Experienced with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign is an asset.
  • Knowledge of color management is an advantage.

Certificates and Licenses: None required. Previous experience in Lean KAIZEN™ or other lean models is a benefit.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
